Tattoo: Hawk, designed by me

Needles: 5RL | 13M

I think it could've been better. But it gave me another chance to familiarize myself with shading. And with tattoo placement, weird angles...

I learned that the neck/collar bone area doesn't take too well to ink. Had to go over the lines.

Tattoo: Client wanted Jack Skeleton (nightmare before christmas). But I convinced him to do a custom piece influenced by Jack and the client. He liked it, so...

Needles: 3L | 5L | 7M

Self Review: I think I messed up the line work in a few places. But I'm growing accustomed to a technique with shading I like: Treat it like a brush, and make sure the power supply is set high.

Self Review: Still messy here and there, but not s many slips in tattoo| 002 I think. Need to get accustomed to working in awkward access points. Or learn how to make said points LESS awkward.

All tattoo's done on the same day will be posted together in the same post. I think that'll be more organized. All feedback welcome of course!

Tattoo: The client's "Ghost Hand" design

Location: right bicep

Tools: Mickey Sharpz hybrid | 5 round liner | 7 mag shader

My overview:

My very first shading. I want to take better pics once it's healed. I think I botched the shading.
Will be focused on improving upon that.

As always, all feedback is welcome. Especially the constructive kind :)

Tattoo: Harlem

Location: left cafe, side

Tools: Mickey Sharpz hybrid | 5 round needle

My overview: A little over one month after my first tattoo (oh the horror) and practically no practice except for fake skin a couple of times. This proves mind over matter works. I just made sure I didn't treat the machine like it was a separate being. Kept thinking, 'pen on paper, pen on paper'.

I KNOW I could've been more neater. But I do still like it for the fact it's much better than my first.

As always, all feedback is welcome. Especially the constructive kind :)

Tattoo: Her boyfriend's signature

Location: Left chest plate

Tools: Mickey Sharpz hybrid | 3 round needle

My overview: Didn't go deep enough, had a nervous hand, and ...a lot about this is wrong. First tattoo or not, I still hate how it came out so horrible.

But...It was educational in that it gave me the experience of working on skin first hand.

Fun Fact: For 10 minutes before she arrived, I used my machines for the very first time period. Tried to get some practice in on fake skin.

This journal was inspired by a journal of the same theme which I stumbled upon a year or two ago. I stupidly didn't bookmark the journal he was keeping, or if I did, It's been lost somehow. Since the first day I found it.

So wherever you are...The tattooist ,who had a degree in graphic design but followed his true heart in tattooing, thank you for the inspiration.

(P.S. If you now the who I'm talking about [I remember his journal was grey, and he had some kind of degree. In graphic design I think. And he might have worked for disney at some point too], please send me his link so I may link him properly. Plus, I want to see how his work is doing.)
